DANI SKIKO
Intern

Dani (she/her/hers) is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, where she is studying Psychology & Neuroscience and Spanish. As a bilingual intern with a background in both research and direct client support, she brings a thoughtful, compassionate, and informed approach to her work. She is especially interested in the intersections of cognitive development, language acquisition, and emotional regulation, and how these processes can be uniquely impacted by trauma.

At the Center for Identity Potential, Dani supports clinicians as an intern through collaborative, hands-on learning experiences. As a prospective counselor, she is particularly drawn to the ways that cognitive control and self-regulation unfold during childhood and adolescence, and is passionate about making space for connection, growth, and an exploration of vulnerability in every interaction.

Dani’s experience spans clinical research, caregiving, and educational mentorship. She is dedicated to understanding the neural underpinnings of identity development and building systems of support that foster healing and resilience. Through the lens of her own experiences, she is passionate about building the skills necessary to hopefully help guide future clients in their journeys of exploring their minds, identifying their challenges, and learning to live authentically alongside them.
